UpGreg at GlobalTech Summit Lausanne 2026: AI in the service of sports coaching

On September 1st, 2026, UpGreg participated in the GlobalTech Summit in Lausanne, an event bringing together leaders, entrepreneurs, experts and players in the Swiss technology ecosystem. Selected among six startups in the Startups Village, UpGreg had the opportunity to present its approach to artificial intelligence applied to sports coaching and to exchange with nearly 200 tech leaders.

A day at the heart of Swiss tech

GlobalTech Summit has become an important meeting point for those interested in technological transformations and their impact on businesses. For UpGreg, participating in the 2026 edition in Lausanne represented a great opportunity: to present our startup in an environment bringing together experts in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, technological governance and digital transformation.

The day was organized around a particularly current question: how will new technologies shape the enterprises and uses of tomorrow? For a startup like UpGreg, which places artificial intelligence at the heart of its product, this reflection directly echoes our own approach.

UpGreg selected in the Startups Village

UpGreg was one of six startups selected for the Startups Village of the GlobalTech Summit 2026. Alongside startups operating notably in FinTech and HealthTech, we were able to present another concrete application of AI: that of personalized sports coaching.

Our stand was an opportunity to showcase UpGreg, explain our approach and above all exchange directly with visitors. Because behind the technology, our ambition is very simple: to make sports coaching more personalized, more accessible and more conversational through artificial intelligence.

Pitching UpGreg to nearly 200 tech leaders

One of the highlights of the day was our pitch before nearly 200 leaders and professionals from the technology world. Presenting UpGreg to such an informed audience is a particularly interesting exercise.

We were able to explain what distinguishes UpGreg from traditional sports coaching applications and generic AI tools: UpGreg is designed as a true conversational sports coach, capable of interacting with the athlete, taking into account their context and personalizing their support.

The goal is not simply to produce a training program. It's about creating an experience in which the athlete can interact with their coach, ask questions, understand their training, adjust their preparation and progress with support that evolves with them. This conversational dimension is at the heart of our vision of AI applied to sports.

Artificial intelligence: from technology to use

The presentations at GlobalTech Summit also allowed us to take a step back from the current evolution of artificial intelligence. The discussions around AI advances, its implementation in businesses, cybersecurity, governance and the challenges related to its use were particularly fascinating.

One point seems essential to us: today, the question is no longer just what AI can do, but how it can be integrated into products and experiences that bring real value to users. This is exactly the approach we seek to develop with UpGreg.

Artificial intelligence is not an end in itself. It becomes interesting when it allows you to solve a problem better, more simply or more intelligently.

Fascinating discussions around UpGreg

Networking was one of the other major moments of the day. We met many professionals curious to understand how UpGreg works, what sets it apart, what our market approach is and how we envision its development. Questions were numerous and very concrete:

  • Why create an AI-based sports coach?
  • What differentiates UpGreg from existing coaching applications?
  • How does the conversational approach work?
  • How can AI really personalize athlete support?
  • What market for an AI sports coach?
  • How to evolve the product and its uses?

These exchanges led to excellent conversations and many particularly stimulating feedbacks. For a startup, these discussions are precious. They allow you to test your positioning, confront your hypotheses with outside perspectives and identify new opportunities.

Six startups with the same ambition: building tomorrow's tech

The Startups Village brought together six startups from different fields, including FinTech, HealthTech and sports. This diversity was particularly interesting. The problems being addressed were different, but all these startups shared the same ambition: to use technology to create new services and meet concrete needs.

For UpGreg, this proximity with other entrepreneurs and innovators was also a great source of inspiration.

An experience that confirms our vision

Participating in GlobalTech Summit has strengthened our conviction: AI will gradually transform the way we interact with digital services. In sports, this notably means moving from applications that provide data and recommendations to much more interactive and personalized experiences.

This is precisely the space in which UpGreg is a Swiss startup that wishes to position itself. UpGreg is a conversational AI sports coach, designed for endurance athletes and capable of transforming their data, their goals and their interactions into personalized support.

Thank you to GlobalTech Summit Lausanne

We would like to warmly thank the entire GlobalTech Summit team for their welcome, for this opportunity to present UpGreg and for the quality of the meetings organized throughout the day. We are leaving Lausanne with new ideas, new conversations and lots of energy to continue developing UpGreg.

A big thank you also to everyone who came to meet us at the Startups Village, who attended our pitch or who took the time to talk with us. Technology is exciting. But the conversations it enables are even more so.

And for UpGreg, the conversation is just beginning.

🗣️ Greg's take

“When you create a technology, the most important question is not 'what can it do?' but 'how can it really help someone?'. At GlobalTech Summit, I heard the best answers from athletes. And that's why we keep going.”
